But I don't want to jump

But I don't want to jump
March 14, 2018

Believe it or not, this is one of the most common phrases we hear during our sailing tours. On our website you can see so many photos of people taking the leap of faith, i.e. jumping from the top of Rina Cave, but the truth is that only a small percentage (around 30%) actually jumps.

No matter how much we try to encourage our guests to give it a try, some never will. Let us divide travellers according to their will to perform the famous jump.

We have seen 4 categories:

Those who never will: The fact remains that if you take a look at the dome of the cave from the sea, it looks really high and intimidating. Whether one has a fear of heights or not, it is perfectly understandable to refuse this high jump and choose to swim or jump from the boat instead. Besides, no one needs to prove anything here! However, there are always surprises. People are known to do things they previously thought impossible.

Those who are willing to jump but...: Here it gets a bit complicated. Because knowing is one thing but doing is an entirely different story. But hey, remember, close your eyes and just do it! After all, it’s just cool water below! Who knows, you may even be the hero of the day.

Those who need some encouragement: The mere excitement of the sailing tour is enough to persuade some of our guests to climb on top of Rina Cave and go for it. Perhaps they have even been dreaming about it during their entire Naxos holiday up to the moment they actually got there... and seen it. All they really need is some moral support from the crew and their co-travellers.

Those who jump: Welcome to the realm of the brave and adventurous! This little group is always looking for a new thrill, a new experience to get that little adrenaline rush and a chance to tell people back home their story. Some even have photos or video to prove it! Will you?

Have you found out which is the category you fit in? Not so easy... There is only one way to find out and that is to get there and see for yourself. Who knows, you may surprise yourself!

“Awesome day in a beautiful yacht”
George, thank you again for a wonderful trip yesterday. It was one of the highlights of our time in Greece. You and your son run an outstanding operation. You will be on our agenda on our next trip to Naxos. Thank you.
